The Call to Selflessness | Brandon Bellows
What if the secret to a better life is not getting more for yourself, but giving more of yourself? This week, we explored 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 and discovered that the gospel is not just about where we go when we die -- it is about how we live right now.
Because of what Jesus has done for us, we are no longer bound to a life controlled by selfishness and sin. His death and resurrection make it possible, practical, and purposeful for us to live differently -- not by our own willpower, but because of his love compelling us from the inside out.
As the passage reminds us, Jesus died for us so that we might no longer live for ourselves. God took the first step. Selflessness is not something we earn -- it is something we receive as a gift, and then live out.
